Cardfight!! Vanguard V - Episode 20 Review

The plot keeps moving along here as Aichi continues to show signs of having PSY-Qualia in his fight with Tetsu while Kai and Miwa mop up Team Asteroid's HQ.  The fight itself went as I expected in that Tetsu bodied Aichi with Death Anchor's ability...it just took another turn to do so in which we got some more exposition about our magical plot armour ability and how it works.  Like before it allows the user to resonate with his units, manipulate the flow of the fight and other random bullshit as the plot demands I'm sure but more importantly Aichi's plot armour is weaker than Firewall Dragon Ren's so he's fucked.  After the fight Tetsu asks Aichi what Vanguard means to him and we get a touching scene in which he spills his heart about the game and how through it he's been able to meet people, become friends with Kai and find something meaningful in his until then worthless fight.  Tetsu remarks that Ren is much the same and he leaves with Kyou following behind.

BOI.

The two talk about PSY-Qualia more and Tetsu says repeatedly that Kyou can't gain it by hanging around Aichi or Ren during their conversation.  He also is convinced that PSY-Qualia isn't something gained through outside factors based on how our current known users of it have acted and that as long as Aichi continues to play Vanguard eyes will be kept on him.  Speaking of Aichi stumbles out of the Card Shop into Ren's hands and the two decide to head to Card Capital which naturally is going to cause some kind of shenanigans to ensue.

Misaki's gonna have her work cut out next season keeping Aichi safe from Kourin, Ren and Kai.

They arrive and Misaki immediately goes into big sis mode and tackles Aichi away from Ren while introductions are in order.  Ren becomes dejected that Kai isn't around but takes the time to explain the part of his past that we already knew via the recap episode a couple weeks ago.  Blah blah blah Kai's SO stronk, he can't be beat, etc and Ren gets is raep face while talking about a means to defeat him.  Kamui remarks that Aichi actually has defeated him which catches Ren's eye before we get an urgent message telling him that Kai is at Asteroid HQ.

Edgelord Players: OH MY GOD HE'S SO GOD DAMN COOL!!

Asaka gets flattened while Tetsu begins to tell Kai about his encounter with Aichi earlier which gets him buttmad when Ren, Aichi, Kamui and Misaki enter the room as the episode comes to a close.  Next week we get the long awaited fight between Ren and Kai to which I say we might see Nouvelle or PBD finally make an appearance.  One of these two has to have something other than a Trial Deck boss win their games, right?
