Lolcals Adventure - Prepare thy Anus

Yay Hidden Arsenal 7 is out.  I bought two boxes for 100 each which fucking sucks thanks to pack prices in Canada being awful.  We Canadians get fucked in the ass by Yu-Gi-Oh! on a regular basis but that's alright.  I was able to get everything I needed to build the deck that fucks pounds asses just as well if not better; Evilswarm.

After some minor trades and mooching I was able to build the deck exactly as I wanted and figured this would be a good of a chance to test it as any.  While it may be odd that a dragon player like myself would even touch this deck given that Ophion is such a bitch to deal with you've got to keep in mind that Ophion himself is not only a Dragon but he's one that also savages the anuses of several decks by being on the field.

Basically he's a different kind of Koa'ki Meiru Drago and it happens to be that our locals are very weak to this Dark Type Koa'ki Meiru Drago.  That and I've always enjoyed the sit on a tank and grind out your win playstyle that this deck, Gladiator Beasts and Hero Beat employ.  Classic Disaster Dragon was also exceptional at this as outside of Future Fusion plays you would trade one for ones while poking with Drago, Masked and REDMD before going for a kill.  I'll also say to the people who will bitch about me being a dickrider that I don't fucking care what you think.  I have a genuine interest in this deck along with all of the other Hidden Arsenal archetypes.

Except Gusto.  Fuck them.  They're shitawful.

Tournament time!

Round 1 - vs Gallis Agent

Game 1 - Honest fucks me in the ass.

Game 2 - Maxx "C" and Ophion fuck him in the ass.

Game 3 - See above.  Ophion.  Anus.  Fucked.

1-0

Round 2 - vs Mono Mermail (Megamonkey666)

Game 1 - I take it in the ass.

Game 2 - He takes it in the ass.

Game 3 - Abysslead savages my hand and by that I mean my anus through using his effect three times.  Both of us fail to realize he can only tribute attack monsters which is a terrible oversight given how experienced we are with the deck.  I blame my mistake on worrying if I could even sit on a chair after this savaging.

1-1

Round 3  - vs Evols

Game 1 - Not one but TWO Ophion pound him in the anus.  It was not pretty.

Game 2 - Ophion isn't done with that ass yet.

2-1

Top 8 - Win

My opponent never showed up.  Clearly he knew about the amount of anuses that I had been savaging with Ophion and ran away before his was next.  So I ended up playing a Samurai deck for fun while waiting out the round.  Ophion fucked up that ass so hard I honestly wonder if he'll be able to sit for the rest of this week.

3-1

Top 4 - vs Mono Mermail (Megamonkey)

Game 1 - The ass.  Ophion gives it the D.

Game 2  - Ophion and two Soul Drains wreck that ass.

Final - vs Geargia Karakuri

Game 1 - Ophion pounds that ass then his own ass gets pounded.  Then my ass takes it before I retaliate with extreme anal savagery and win before the store closes.

Draw

I pull a Trap Stun from Astral Pack 2 and we head to Robins for food and comfy chairs to ease the pain of our anuses getting reamed so badly.

I proceed to have some games of Pokemon with Monkey with him eventually using my Speedquaza deck against my Blastoise.  We drag out the game a bit because he wants to see just how much damage I can do with a Mewtwo EX that is heavily stacked with energy.   Between my near 20 Energy and his own attachments I hit for a massive 380 damage that TEARS THAT ASS UP A NEW ONE.  MAXIMUM ANAL RAPEAGE.

Oh and also wrecked anuses and by that I mean one person's with Monarchs because I'm fucking awesome at this game and everyone else only exists to bend over and take it without tears.

This entire tournament report style inspired much by something?  Perhaps.  Now bend over.  Your ass is next.

Props
-Sending several people to the proctologist
-Building an entire Evilswarm Deck out of two boxes of HA7 and 3 trades.
-Getting the core pieces of Constellars and the last monsters needed for Gishki and Gem-Knights
-Hitting for nearly 400 damage in Pokemon.  Suck my Basilicock Kyurem EX with Crystal Wall.

Slops
-Needing to see the proctologist as well.
-Not catching the misuse of Abysslead's effect.  Tsk tsk
-Not being able to send more people to the proctologist.  There were only so many asses to give the Evilswarm D to.

A Pokemon Post? What the!?

Yeah this kinda happened.  I ended up having Wednesday off which happens to be when my locals holds a 2 hour Pokemon Session (TCG and Video game matches) so I opted to go since I hadn't had any chance to play the TCG in months.  I arrive and buy five packs of Boundaries Crossed and pull a Secret Rare Shiny Golurk and Gold Potion ACE Speck.  Bitchin.  I proceeded to trade those off for a Dragons Exhalted Rayquaza, 3 Dark Trance Hydregion, Scyther EX and 7 energy so I could finish my AMAZING TROLL DECK.

SpeedQuaza vs Lugia/Ho-Oh/Mewtwo EX

Game 1 - He opens with Sigilyph which I auto lose to.  SCOOP

Game 2 - I do AMAZING because I hit 3 Energy off of Celestial Roar and it goes from there.

Game 3 - I lose to a combination of Hypnotoxic Laser and Gold Breaker and not having another mon on the bench.

SpeedQuaza vs Steel Deck

Game 1 - I donk him after two turns

Game 2 - He gets Plasma Kling Klang out and I lose because this deck can't deal with things immune to EX Attackers.

SpeedQuaza vs Dragon Deck

Game 1 - I misplayed several times with my energy attatchments which kept me from being able to attack for several turns, then got killed by an opposing Rayquaza.

Game 2 - He tanks behind several dragons as I keep KOing his guys.

Game 3 - He sets up a fast Dragonite but then I Dragon Burst it for 360 damage and donk him gloriously.

After this I switch decks.

Blastoise/Keldeo vs Lugia Ho-Oh/Mewtwo EX

Game 1 - I get the turn 2 Bastoise and a strong field of attackers but run out of steam after being N'd three times and not being able to play around his Mewtwos.

Game 2 - I open absolute shit and get donked.  My hand was 2 Juniper, 2 Energy Retrieval and a Blastoise and I drew that kind of hand again after being N'd.

Blastoise/Keldeo vs Lugia Ho-Oh/Mewtwo EX

Game 1 - This one was crazy as we both mulligan'd give times and I mulligan'd a sixth time opening with 2 Keldeos and a Mewtwo with an extremely shitty hand.  He opens up with Mewtwo and a Landorus so I make it a point to slow attach a DCE and a Water to Keldeo then I catcher up his Landorus for the easy knock out and I get the ball rolling off my Prizes (more Catcher).  We go back and forth with our guys and it comes down to my 2 Prizes left to his four, staring down a Mewtwo, a Victini and a Ho-Oh EX while I have a no energy Keldeo, a DCE, Catch er and Juniper in hand with a Squirtle on the bench.  I catcher up his Ho-Oh, attach the DCE and proceed to say, "YORU!" while playing the Juniper.

I draw into a into two Rare Candy, a Water Energy, an Ultra Ball, N, Skyla and Juniper.  My god did I ever sack off of that.

Anyway I Ultra Ball out the Blastoise and Rare Candy it onto the board, Deluge the water energy and attack the Ho-Oh for enough that he's sitting at 20 HP.  My opponent swiches out into a Mewtwo with 3 Energy on it and hits my Keldeo for a near KO but not enough.  I draw for turn and Skyla out my last Catcher, bring up that Ho-Oh and knock it out for the game.  I R SO GUD!

After that we had to leave as it was past 6 and I overall had a very good game against someone who like me knows how to properly play Pokemon.  Until I can get people from the Yu-Gi-Oh! Group who are open minded to play the game (exception being Megamonkey as he's always had an interest in playing) this guy will no doubt be my most challenging opponent at locals as including us two there are only 3-4 people who play Pokemon with a competitive mindset.

Props
-Now being able to build Darkrai/Hydregion....far too late.
-Opening with one of my four Rayquaza in all but one of my games.  That time I mulligan'd 5 times and drew two of him.
-Fucking shit up with Blastoise/Keldeo at last...even if one of my games was failure.
-That last turn play before closing.
-Pulling GOD from a mere five packs once again.

Slops
-Misplays.  Too many times I mismanaged my energy attachments with Rayquaza and had to wait extra turns to attack.
-Saying YORU with the accent in front of two people from Japan.  They didn't notice so no awkwardness was had but still.  Eep.

Cardfight!! Vanguard Tournament Report - What Are the Chances?

What.

No I'm serious.  I'm doing a report for Vanguard today.  In fact today was a special 3v3 Team Tournament with a Nats invite on the line for the top two teams.  Now sadly some things kept it from being like I imagined (3 people dueling simultaneously) but the overall experience sounded promising and I liked the idea of partnering up with people I knew (in this case it was Megamonkey666) and forming a team in which the power and friendship and courage and all that shit would conquer all.

4Kids' writing staff would have a FIELD day with this.

Anyway our team consisting of myself, megamonkey666 and a man known as Liam were team Abyssal Fire Storm spelling be damned and our decks were Narukami, Kagero and Shadow Paladin respectively.  I'd say that our team was overall very good thanks to a combination of skill and deck power between us.  Arguably I had the weakest deck of the team as while Vermillion is a great card Narukami have some major consistency issues compared to its big brother Kagero (and my lack of competitive play can also be an issue as I don't quite know how to play against a lot of the top decks) while monkey had the most power thanks to DOTE while Liam had the most balance (Crossrides and Perfect Guards).  Our order ended up with myself as first, monkey with second and Liam for game 3 as we wanted to try and play to our deck strengths against the most stacked team of the tournament.  Guess who we had to face round 1?

Round 1 (0-2)

Game 1 - Narukami vs Nova Grappler (Loss)

There is one thing you guys have to know about me and this game.  I.  Draw.  Shit.

A running gag around here is "Drawing a Dana hand" which means you open with a handful of triggers, put them back into the deck for the mulligan and DRAW TRIGGERS.

Yeah this happened at the worst possible time and while I can't blame my loss completely on it the fact of the matter is I opened god awful against a more consistent deck and player and basically was done after a couple turns and a few stand triggers on his part.

Game 2 - Kagero vs Kagero (Loss)

Megamonkey was sadly the victim of a double trigger sack off of twin drive.

So we are disappoint.

Round 2 (2-0)

Game 1 - Narukami vs Neo Nectar (Win)

This was a complete blowout.  My opponent was new to the game (and basically wasn't committed to it as we both dicked around before making plays) and Narukami kinda destroy this deck.  Dragonic Kaiser Vermillion can singlehandedly break up any board control the deck has thanks to his counterblast and it kind of happens here.  Also for once I get some lucky trigger breaks.

Game 2 - Kagero vs I don't even know (Win)

I don't even remember how this one turned out.  I'm sure monkey can tell me what to put here.

Round 3 (0-2)

Game 1 - Narukami vs Oracle Think Tank (Loss)

So he gets a Silent Tom out but I have a Perfect Guard in case I'm in danger.  My hand is set to annihilate his board with Vermillion and I'm sitting at 3 damage.  Worst case scenario I'm going into my turn at 4 or 5 damage so I opt not to use my perfect guard on my opponent's Vanguard attack.  What are the chances he'll double crit and beat me right there?

He gets a double critical and beats me right there. I was completely dumbfounded and extremely upset at the outcome.  I outright said to my opponent "Good sack" when he said "GG" then got up and left.  No raging or throwing salt.  Just walking away.

Game 2 - Kagero vs Shadow Paladin (Loss)

Monkey sadly has one of those games where he's drawing his triggers instead of checking them and the opponent happens to have a crapton of hand resources.  He managed to get DOTE out but vs 13 cards in hand even he's got limits.  Then the opponent double triggers him for the win.

So we are both very salty.  I misplayed (or did I get unlucky?), monkey got shafted and Liam hasn't played a game yet.  At this point all we could do is win the next round to finish at five hundred.

Round 4 (2-0)

Game 1 - Narukami vs Nova Grappler (Win)

This one was the new ride chain build that I barely remember.  Anyway I get a clutch Thunderstorm Dragoon as my hand was full of Grade 1s and 3s (including Vermillion) and I proceed to dominate his field as he's stuck sitting on a grade 2 for several turns.  He eventually goes off and amasses a large field but then Vermillion clears things up and I outgrind him.

Game 2 - Kagero vs Dimension Police

Enigman build.  I saw the guy put his Enigman to near 30000 at several points but monkey thankfully has enough hand resources to guard the attacks.  He drops DOTE early and constantly pressures the opponent into guarding his attacks out of fear of that Persona Blast and eventually he outgrinds him and wins.

Final Record 2-2

So we leave after this and buy packs from the shop upstairs.  From a mere 5 Pokemon Emerging Powers I get TWO POKEMON CATCHER.  BOO FUCKING YEAR!!!  Also I pull an ulti Glow-Up Bulb.  Yaaaaay.  This somewhat made up for an otherwise shitty tournament.

Props
-Fucking shit up with my team mates.  Dragonic Kaiser Vermillion and Dragonic Overlord/The End got in there.
-Pulling amazing.

Slop
-Misplays
-Getting trigger sacked.

Pseudo Lolcals Adventure - I r teh grtst!

That is all.

Okay fine I'll elaborate.  So Locals didn't happen today since it was Easter Sunday and Tramps was closed.  Did that stop us?  Pffft, no!  We all just went to the Robins and chilled there all day instead.  Or rather they did at first.  I on the other hand didn't know about this and as such slept until noon when I got a text message saying everyone was down there and so I went after (hastily) throwing some decks together.

Match 1 - Disaster Dragon vs Monk Photon (2-0)

Game 1; I summoned Drago and trololololol'd.

Game 2; I forget how this went.

Match 2 - Hero Beat vs Different Photon (2-0)

Game 1; This one's hazy (flame).

Game 2; Fiendish Chain and Shining put in work.

Match 3 - Hero Beat vs Bad Photon Deck (2-0)

Game 1; Pretty sure I Dark Hole his boss field and monster Reborn a Galaxy-Eyes.

Game 2; I nuke his board with a clutch Torrential.

Match 4 - Hero Beat vs 2011 Tengu Plants (2-1)

Game 1; Grinded a little for this.  Eventually managed to establish control and win.

Game 2; I opened god awful and couldn't play out of my hand.

Game 3; This one went long with removal and beaters abound.  I get 2 Cardcar D's off and draw what I need to win.

Match 5 - Hero Beat vs Karakuri OTK (2-0)

Game 1; I set 5 and summon beaters to win.  Not much you can do against Warning, Judgment, TT, Bribe and Fiendish Chain.

Game 2; He makes a Naturia Beast which would have killed me had I not opened Super Poly + a Hero so I do just that and while he's able to push me around a bit, my backrow do their job.

Match 6 - Hunder vs Plant Synchron (2-0)

Game 1; This is already a favourable matchup thanks to my ability to Shock Lock or Crimson Blader lock and I do both here.  I'm able to kill him in a few turns.

Game 2; He goes OFF with a shit ton of monsters and ends his board with Librarian, Berserker and another monster along with a Pot of Avarice and Dandylion combos.  I answer with a one turn Thunder Spark Dragon and my backrow helps keep him in check.

Match 7 - Disaster Dragon vs Wind-Up (2-0)

Game 1 - He keeps removing Dragos and gets Factory off but I eventually drop a Yamata Dragon, score the +5 off of it and ride my traps to victory.

Game 2 - He bottomlesses my REDMD so I decide to make a huge push with Return from the Different Dimension and I flat out annihilate him in doing so.

Match 8 - Hunder vs Plant Synchron (Draw)

Game 1; He gets a turn one Quasar.

Game 2; He had to leave.

Match 9 - Disaster Dragon vs Prophecy with Judgment (1-2)

Game 1; He opens with Judgment and I just don't have the resources to outlast his constant plusses.  I also start considering building Dark World.

Game 2; He doesn't open as strongly and I'm able to Solemn his Spellbook Magician then go for the throat on the following turn with Blaster and Tempest.

Game 3; See game 1.

Match 10 - Hunder vs Prophecy (2-1?)

Game 1 - I believe I open with T-King here and while he gets around it I drop a Dynamo to kill a Priestess and have Honest to back it up.

Game 2 - I make a Crimson Blader and use it to buy a couple turns before shitting my hand out and winning.

Match 11 - March 2012 Chaos Dragon Mirror Match (2-0)

Game 1 - I get Future Fusion off and despite some awful mills I eventually win it.

Game 2 - I open Future Fusion like a baws and then we just shit big monsters all over the place.  I do win this after blowing up the field with Dark Hole while having a Pulsar and pushing through Maxx "C" for the win.

Then we all went home.  Overall the day was good.  It was basically locals except all the good people were present.  I got to test out some changes to my Hunder Deck, my idea of how to run Heroes and even got a few games with Disaster.  I'm disappointed I couldn't get the match win against Spellbooks as I had hands in which I could have done SOMETHING, but nowhere near what was needed to get the job done with Priestess and a shit ton of spellbooks coming.  Being able to win against the deck with Hunders though?  That felt good and it definitely boosted my confidence with the deck after my poor showing at Regionals.  Photon Thrasher is a fucking beast.

Props
-Heroes
-Hunders
-DRAGONS
-Getting that last Blastoise I needed to start building Keldeotoise.
-Playing the Chaos Dragon Mirror with 2 REDMD and Future Fusion.  God that was so fucking dumb

Slops
-Losing to Prophecy with my favourite deck.  Fuck Judgment Day.  Card Destruction requires a situational hand to be anywhere near as plus.
-Milling BLS and Monster Reborn with Chaos Dragons in both games.

Lolcals Adventure - A Shocking Result

Yay locals!  If there's anything that can be done to help my wounded pride it would be a chance to to kick some ass with a modified version of my Regional Deck as I really wanted to see how much of a difference Photon Thrasher would have made.  I also made it a point to trade off a playmat and some of my cards for older cards, Hazy stuff and a few banned cards.

Also some of the people are really fucking terrible when it comes to trades.  "No I'm not trading that Secret Rare Vylon Epsilon for a Super Rare."

Except for you know Vylons are garbage and Hidden Arsenal Secrets are no more valuable than the obsolete penny.  I know some people (okay not some.  Just the awful people) hate the whole card values thing but almost everyone with a head on their shoulders will trade cards based on value, not rarity.  Its what we do and if you want to get trades done with the non sucky people then you're going to have to bite the bullet.

Now for the tournament.

Round 1 - vs X-Sabers (1-2)

Game 1 - So I put out a bitchin field of Stardust with Prism and Thunder King.  He's pretty much dead next turn...but then plays 2 Saber Slash and OTKs the fuck out of me.

Game 2 - Macro Cosmos.

Game 3 - I put out a Thought Ruler which negates 2 of his cards...then gets Creature Swapped because that's a card that I've had a longstanding hatred of before I even met any of the people at locals.  I hate losing games because of Creature Swap and while I eventually do get around this thanks to Dynamo and make a field with Rai-Oh he's eventually able to clear it and make Barkion to my backrow of Fiendish Chain and Bottomless and kills me.  Ultimately the Creature Swap won him the game and I am placing part of the loss on that.  The damage I took from that hit and the work I had to do in order to take control back was just too much and against Sabers that's enough to outright lose it all.

Round 2 - vs Legendary Ocean Deck (2-0)

Game 1 - You know how I talked about beating a bad player with a bad deck and how its basically like kicking a puppy?  Yeah that's kind of the same here.  He negates my Pot of Duality with Magic Jammer and I'm like "well then".  Then I make Stardust and eventually Scrap Dragon and win.

Game 2 - I completely shit on his setup with Decree, Stardust and Dynamo.

Round 3 - vs Blackwings (2-1)

Game 1 - I make Stardust and he has no answer to it for most of the game.  Then he Storms, drops DAD and some more Blackwings and beats me to death....mostly.  I admit that I misplayed and forgot that I had TRAG IN HAND and could have lived the turn out at 1000 LP, played Dark Hole and Reborn'd Stardust.  Now I was dually pissed.

Game 2 - So I summoned Photon Trasher and literally beat him down with it.  He killed it but by then it was too late.  I had far too much advantage on him.

Game 3 - He opens with Whirlwind and gets Gale off his Shura summon but no other backrow so I'm reading an all Monster hand.  So I make Shock Master and call effects for 3 turns, beat him down with it and Rai-Oh then make Scrap Dragon and win.

And that was it because we only had a Top 4 and what do you know I didn't make it because the tournamen structure is DUMB and I bubbled out.  I got 5th place!  The fuck!?  Ever since we started doing this new style it's become more and more bullshit in regards to how well certain players do and alot of good people have missed out on playoffs because they lost one match.

So after this we go to Robins and do our usual of more games, trades, Vanguard and such.  I got to playtest Hunders against Prophecy and not surprisingly I drew Shock Master Hands most of the time.  It was kinda dickbutty.

Props
-Making up for my horrible Regional performance albeit somewhat.  I ended with a winning record and I'm pretty sure I'd have gone 3-0 had I elected to have Rai-Oh negate an X-Saber Gardestrike summon which lead to a Saber Slash into Barkion play.
-Getting out of the Salt Mine.
-Puns.  Many many puns.  You could say they were...electrifying!

Slops
-Misplays.
-Still taking bad losses way too hard.  I literally told someone to stop playing a bad deck when I saw him flip up DNA Surgery and call Divine-Beast.  This was the guy I made flip the table in the 100 card tournament and lo and behold he was still playing shitty stall decks.

March 23, 2013 Regional Report - Disappointment

Well this could have gone better and by that I mean ALOT better.  I mentioned this a while back in a video that Regina would be getting a second Regionals in March and this happened to be that weekend.  It also happened to be the weekend of YCS Austin and not surprisingly the end results were kind of expected.

Except for the whole us not having a Monarch deck that topped.  With his entire Extra Deck in toploaders.  Wow.  This guy must have been a master troll or something as there were ALOT of salt filled posts on Duelistgroundz in regards to this.  Some of these people were more salty than myself which may be a shocker to some (you guys know who you are.  In fact you're reading this right now.

Hiiiiiiiiiiiii.) but yeah its possible.  This Regionals was also quite salty.  In fact it was basically a fucking salt mine with me driving the cart except for the whole I wasn't the most salty person there.  That belonged to the guy who bubbled because of his tie breakers.  I promptly gave him the wheel and went about my way.

Anyway I ended up taking Hunders to this since I already had my invite and wanted to play something more wonky than Dragunity (the other choice was Hieratic but I was drawing like the master and by that I mean total ASS in most of my games).  In retrospect this was a bad call as I'd never really used the deck much outside of games on DevPro where it tested decent and I was not fully confident in my side decking decisions.  I probably should have gone with Chaos Dragon but after getting horribly anal raped by Karakuri the night before I was like "k this isn't going to work."  Oh and for the curious our meta turnout was Rabbit, Dark World, Lightsworn, Machina Gadget, Machina Geargia, Chaos Dragon, Mono and Genex Mermail, Fire Fist and finally Dragunity because ever since I topped the last Regionals with them some people have been playing the deck more or in one case outright trying to copy exactly everything I've done.

Oh and there were two women at this.  Two out of almost 70.  Dat ratio.  Oh and they came with their boyfriends......and this is where I'm sure some people just went "well shit."

Moving on I get there with Megamonkey and the rest of the group, do some trades while catching up with the guys from Saskatoon while also learning that a couple people from Winnipeg came all the way here to compete.  By the end of the day they were very, very sorry they did.  Our head judge does his speech and we're set to begin...except the fucking Dark World player comes in at the last minute, bumps up the rounds of swiss from 6 to 7 and we all have to get re-paired.  The stupidity of the deck is astounding if their players can cause fuckups of that magnitude without games being played.  So after ANOTHER wait the Regionals begin.

Round 1 - vs Shitty Fucking Awful Mermails (Not even a Win worth counting)

Game 1 - Oh my god I'm paired up with the idiot who tried to mimic my Hazy Flames deck from a while back.  Except this time he's trying to play Merlanteans since I guess its the best deck of the format....except that he had no Megalos (only 3 Leeds) and he had NO IDEA of how his cards worked.  He was either reading or misreading effects.  Example; He summoned Genex Undine and tried to pitch Marksman from the HAND.  Oh and apparently he was running Dimensional Fissure in his Side Deck.

Wut.

Yes I'm being a fucking prick but you have no idea how much facepalm I wanted to do.  So I completely and utterly thrash him with Abyss Dweller and Crimson Blader equipped with a Prism and lock him out.

Game 2 - Pretty much the same as before.  I put Thunder King on the board and eventually make a Dweller to lock him out of his Linde effects.  I kill him after making a Dynamo.

Round 2 - vs Machina Gadgets (1-2)

Game 1 - So this guy's been playing the game since LOB and much like Cameron he has lots, and lots, and lots of decks.  You know how in GX Bastion opens up his coat and has a FUCKTON of decks?  That's Cameron and this guy.  Except this guy's more like Bastion and Cam is so much like Abridged Jaden it's fucking scary.

Oh right the game.  I basically managed to keep him from doing much and put out a ton of damage through my constant double summons and he can't keep up.

Game 2 - He summons a Tiger King Wanghu with backrow and I die inside as I've got no out to that thing and despite my best efforts to thin my deck out, stall and hope to draw an out I don't.  I was hoping to get a Rai-Oh or a Soul Taker but nope.  Worst yet he's got the Starlight Road and I'm pretty much done.

Game 3 - He opens with a Machina Fortress and I Taker it.  He summons it again and I taker it.  Then we basically poke here and there while drawing backrow but no monsters or a monster but losing it to removal.  This game went on a long time and eventually he's able to get the win after finally knocking off the rest of my LP after I take him to around 1200 I think.  My only disappointment from this was that I never saw Thunder Seahorse which up until this point I opened with in every game.  Now I realize just how much the deck lives and dies by Seahorse.  Anyway the handshake was done and he told me that was by far the best game he had in a long time and by the sounds of it the best he had that entire day.  I didn't hear it personally but he basically said that I was the toughest and one of the most skilled opponents he had ever faced.  Coming from someone who has likely played all kinds of caliber players that does mean alot and it certainly helps my ego.  I was still disappoint that my deck failed me though.  I don't like to lose.

Round 3 - vs Inzektors (1-2)

Game 1 - I try to make a Stardust but it gets Solemned.  Then he proceeds to do Inzektor plays with Call of the Haunted that I can't stop and I pretty much die.  My dislike of this deck is well known and I didn't side nearly enough hate for it in retrospect.  I always wondered why the guy who topped Hawaii with this deck ran Shadow Mirrors.  Now I do.

Game 2 - I get Macro Cosmos off Turn one and beat him to death with it

Game 3 - This was by far my worst playing in a long time as I make the stupid move of negating a Decree with Judgment which puts me at 2800 LP and enough to let him use his Call of the Haunteds to beat over my Dynamo then attack for game.  If anything I should have Macro'd Turn 1 (which I didn't because I got greedy and wanted to get the draw off of Dyamo) and i should have let the Decree go since I had Storm and another Macro in hand.

Round 4 - vs Fire Fist Rabbit (0-2)

Game 1 - Oh god fucking dammit.  Not this deck.  I was not prepared for this at all and I get thoroughly raped by it thanks to a Turn 1 Tiger King and a never ending supply of backrow that I could not get around.  I knew he had a Mirror Force and he had Lances, Tensen and a frequent supply of Bears I could not handle.

Game 2 - I Heavy Storm, he Starlight Roads then makes Shock Master and calls Monster Effects.  I couldn't even say anything.  I couldn't even DO ANYTHING.  The fuck do you do against Stardust, Shock Master and Bear with 4 facedowns!?  If this was DN or DevPro I would have just outright ragequit and I almost got up and left the room here.  I ended up scooping it up and getting out of there before I snapped or something because I got 2-0'd and while I admit I'm not the greatest player in the world I do NOT get fucking 2-0'd.  I'm fucking better than THAT.  That much I do know!  God damn just look at the Gadget match.  I lost that but I made it one of the most difficult wins that a person could get.  Fucking fighting tooth and nail to the bitter end.  This?  I got blown out and it was disgusting.  I straight up dropped here and decided to participate in the win a mat.

The worst part of this however?  My only match win was against a bad player playing a bad deck.  That's like OTKing a random 60 card Dark Magician deck on DN.  That's not much of a win if you even count it as one.  *throws the salt packs out*

Win-A-Mat Tournament

So after waiting 10 minutes and getting pairings done four times we FINALLY got to try to get the badass looking Kaito + Neo Galaxy-Eyes mat which is honestly better than the Regional Mat itself.

Round 1 - vs Machina Geargia (2-1)

Game 1 - My opponent has the Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon Hobby League mat and I basically throw things at him to get it and I eventually do.

What the game?  Oh fine.  He'd never seen a Hunder deck in action before so my plays we're kind of confusing.  I eventually make a Stardust with a Prism on it and beat face or something.  He couldn't get around my guys.

Game 2 - I drew no monsters for like EVER and got beaten to death.

Game 3 - We pretty much went into a grind game which is fine by me as Hunders love the slow game.  Allows me to do constant Seahorse toolboxing to set up then make a push which is what I do here.  Not often you can say you managed to beat Machina Geargia at their own strategy but I did here.

Round 2 - vs Sephilonsworn

Game 1 - He attacks me and I drop a Trag and beat face with it and a Thunder King.

Game 2 - I pretty much had him down on the ropes until he rips a Pot of Avarice and drops JDs.

Game 3 - We kinda go back and forth in this.  He gets a monster Reborn off but I'm pretty sure he either can't handle the Stardust with Prism or I lock him down with Blader and use Dynamo to finish him off.

Round 3 - vs Fire Fist (0-2)

Game 1 - So all the Fire Fist players came from Winnipeg I think which explains why nobody was prepared for them.  I admit we all thought the deck would be non-existent here due to nobody being able to afford a playset of Bear and thats why I didn't side for the deck.  Not that it mattered here as he had EVERYTHING.  Things to kill my monsters on summon or Lance/Tensen to beat over them.  I couldn't do jack all.

Game 2 - He pushes me into a corner then plays Reborn to win it.  Fucking hate that card.

And that's as far as I went.  I ended up trading cards to get the mat from the winner who was the Fire Fist guy which sounds like was the best move as alot of people hated him.  There was also a Chain Burn player who was a complete douche and Magnus thrashed him.  Good job.  Megamonkey also got Top 4 with his Mermail deck which allows him to choice the coveted Regional Deckbox club that yours truly is a part of.

Anyway if we get another Regionals Tramps is going to have to seriously step up their game because compared to Winnipeg we really are nothing but banjo playing hicks.  It pains me to say this but after being at a Regionals in Winnipeg and being at ours twice...its the truth.  Also complaints are apparently being made which could affect future regionals here.  I think if anything Saskatoon should get the next one.  I think their people could handle it better.  If we get another one then I definitely agree with Cameron being Head Judge and while I'm touched that him and Magnus think me competent and knowledgeable enough to pull of Judging well (because lets face it, I probably am better suited to this shit than some of the people we've had.  I'm not trying to be cocky or anything but I am confident in not only my rulings but also applying common sense with card interactions).  Would I judge at a Regionals in September or would I rather play Dragons?  Good question.

That said after all this we head to East Side Mario's for dinner then to Cameron's to talk, watch TFS Abridged and I had some more games with my Hunders since I wanted to see if the deck was flat out awful or my matchups were.  I played against Junk Doppel and Lightsworn where Crimson Blader kinda fucks them up royally so they were lopsided wins in my favour.  Score.

Props
-Megamonkey getting another Regional Top.
-Picking up basically an entire Samurai Deck for 30 bucks
-Getting the Win A Mat for 120
-Getting the Red-Eyes Mat that I've wanted for YEARS

Slops
-Scrubbing out and finishing in 57th place.
-Not going with Dragons.  I love Hunders but Dragons really are my deck.
-Not going with the Photon Thrashers that I ran in early builds.  Thrasher + Sishunder into Dynamo would have been real helpful.
-Losing to Monster Reborn and Avarice.
-Getting 2-0'd by Fire Fists.  Fun?  That was FUN!?

Yeah this day was not very fun at all.  I had to wash out alot of salt during my morning showever.

Lolcals Adventure - More Salt

Alright so time for another Locals report!  I should warn you guys.  There's a good chance this post will have higher than usual amounts of sodium in it.

Anyway!  With Regionals coming up I decided to test a deck I had been mostly set on running in Hieratics.  Pulling Volcasaurus from my Collector's tin on the spot kinda sealed it.  However instead of running the Birdman build that Paul Cooper topped with I took a modified version of a recent OCG build running Divine Dragon Apocralyph and a Level 4 Vanilla to enable Queen Dragun Djinn access and the ability to OTK using 3 Hieratics and a random card in the hand.  How did it go?  Well...

Round 1 - vs Cyber Dragon (1-2)

Game 1 - I opened pretty mediocre as I ended up summoning 2 Wind-Up Rabbits and making a Zenmaines.  Eventually I put out a field of Monsters but his Cyber Larvas keep him safe from what was an OTK.  Then he Power Bonds a Cyber Twin Dragon and plays Limiter during the damage step.  Salt.

Game 2 - I summon Rabbit and pass turn.  He goes for Power Bond turn one and attacks hoping I don't have Battle Fader.  I do and that's why I didn't die and went on to OTK quite nicely with a Volcasaurus popping Cyber Twin for extra oomph.

Game 3 - He torrentials me after I drop a Su and that really fucking sucks.  Then he turn Power Bonds into a Cyber Twin and I have no Battle Fader so I take over 10000 damage and lose to a fucking awful deck.  I didn't rage though.  No I kept my salt levels in check.  I just scooped up my cards and left, not saying good game or any handshakes.  Shitty decks like this don't get good game from me.

On that note why do people keep building this bullshit?  OH LOOK AT ME I CAN SUMMON A BIG DRAGON AND DO AMAZING DAMA-Compulsory Evacuation Device.  Oh look.  You just lost EVERYTHING.

Maybe I should have played Macro Rabbit today.  Between this guy and the FIVE DARK WORLDS and the two Merlantean decks present I would have annihilated everyone.  That or Six Sams.  Basically anything that punishes people for -109409304923480954350129430498ing themselves.  Hieratics can't do that.

Round 2 - vs I don't even know (2-0)

Game 1 - I don't remember this, other than I summon a shitton of monsters and eventually have to play around a Gorz.

Game 2 - I smoke him pretty good.

Round 3 - vs Dark World (2-0)

I already knew he was playing this after watching him Mirror Match another Dark World.  He's not surprisingly a bad player that without thinking uses Dealings against someone he KNOWS IS PLAYING DARK WORLD.  Yeah how did that work out for you?  Your opponent summoned Silva and Goldd and got their bonus effects?

Game 1 - He opens awful which is fine by me.  You want to play Dark World because you're a talentless hack who can't fucking play his way out of a paper bag nor do you understand how cards work.  "I'm going to use your field spell's effect" No you can't do that.  Why?  Field Spells are one sided unless they specifically SAY both players.  And no Allure of Darkness does not let you choose to discard your hand instead of banishing a Dark Monster.  This is the same fucknut that tried to copy my Haze King deck and failed miserably at piloting deck.  So what does he do?  Go back to playing a deck that covers up a terrible player's flaws by giving them godly hands!  Because that's all he can do.  Anyway my original point.  If you are going to play Dark World you'd better be prepared for the garbage hands that the deck produces and Hieratics even with a bad hand can capitalize on this.

In this case I made a Tiras and poked with it until I won.

Game 2 - Oh my god.  This was so awesome.  So he sets a bajillion and calls Su with Prohibition and I see he has a Light Mirror because he flipped it up by mistake and I caught it.  Now I was like "well crap" but then I hit a Gemini Imps off of Duality while opening with one.  He plays Dragged Down KNOWING I have the Imps and I draw Heavy Storm off of it.  He has no follow up plays and I draw a 4th Hieratic.  I Storm his backrow and put out 10700 GLORIOUS POINTS OF DAMAGE on the board.  I then go over to see Megamonkey beat the Cyber Dragon player after he Power Bonded and failed to do anything, putting himself down to 1000 LP.  Monkey makes Blackship of Corn and sends Cyber Larva to the graveyard for exact game.  He later told me that the Cyber Dragon guy went HAM and blew up his field or something but he topdecked Dark Hole in response and got called a sack for it.

My god I just....I want to summon Koa'ki Meiru Drago, set 2 and see this guy's face.

Anyway because I lost to a bad person and only beat two bad people I didn't make it to top four.  In fact I placed way the fuck out of contention and so far down the list I swear to god I was in Space Mexico.

So we all went to Robins and I playtest against Mermails and Wind Ups.  Mermails I needed a god hand to beat and Wind-Ups was a bearable matchup, even winnable to an extent.  Then I playtested Dragunty/Tempest and dickbutted pretty badly.  Gold Sarc + Ravine + Phalanx.  Yeah....my end field was Stardust, REDMD, Messier 7 and backrow.  I also played Vanguard and won more games than I lost with one point I managed to hit 2 Critical Triggers on an opponent who didn't guard thinking he'd be fine.

SUCKS, DOESN'T IT!?

Props
-New style Hieratics are extremely versatile.  I can OTK and never need to see REDMD.  That's insane.
-Volcasaurus too stronk.  I won so many games because I blew up a monster and went into Thunder Charger.  Queen Dragun Jinn, 2 Chargers and at least 700 damage is an OTK.
-Queen Jinn was amazing.
-Teaming up with Megamonkey's Kagero with my Narukami in a team Cardfight.  Bow before the might of Team Firestorm!

Slops
-Getting out HAMed by a bad HAM deck while playing a good HAM Deck
-Konami's fucking retarded tournament structure system.
-Drawing 3 Vanillas.  *Commits seppuku*

Lolcals Adventure - Memory of a Friend

New format!  Indeed today marks the first blogpost of the Yu-Gi-Oh! March 2013 Format and by the looks of it this may turn out to be even shittier than March 2012.  Oh don't get me wrong right now things are better than last year but let me tell you guys when Lord of the Tachyion Galaxy comes out we're all FUCKED.  Capcom fucking over anyone who bought a 3DS for Mega Man Legends 3 level fucked.

Ooooooh.

On the plus side (if there is one) the Elemental Dragons are in that set and they're bitchin to play with.  I recently gave Tempest Dragunity a go and jesus.  Easily a tier 1.5 deck now.  If Prophecy wasn't a deck it'd easily be Tier 1.  Still don't have a finalized list (I've seen some OCG builds run virtually no traps for instance which I feel is a giant no no in a deck like Dragunity) but I'm working on it.

Back to Lolcals.  Yes I'm calling these posts that now because for the most part our locals are Lols.  Anyway for this Locals I decided to use Lightsworn since I was short an Advanced Ritual Art for Herald Agents, short one Breakthrough Skill for Dragunity and I didn't want to use Macro Rabbit yet.  That and I had a more personal reason for wanting to play Lightsworn.  I'll elaborate on this in a video.

Round 1 - vs Chaos Dragon (2-1)

Game 1 - I attack into a Ryko who pops my Ryko and he kinda puts a shit ton of damage on the board.  Also my mills were complete garbage.  Lost a Monster Reborn.

Game 2 - I don't remember this one much other than getting Judgment Dragon out and nuking several times.  He Dark Holes but then I topdeck amazing.  This was after losing Reborn again to mills.

Game 3 - We both see some of our sided cards and he ends up swiping JD with Electric Virus and going for game, but forgot I had a Necro Gardna and that cost him the game.  I was able to take the field and win afterwards.  Milled Reborn and my Trags here.

Round 2 - vs Hazy Kings (2-0)

Game 1 and 2 - Same scrub who was playing Dark World against my Hazy Kings that I kicked the shit out of a couple weeks ago.  Unlike yours truely he had no fucking clue how to operate the deck as he made brutal misplays and took WAY too many unnecessary -1s.  How did I ever think this slapnut was ever GOOD?  God damn do perspectives change after time.  I remember when he roflstomped me in my very first ever game at a locals with 3 Charge of the Light Brigade Lightsworn and used to think he was good.

So anyway both games I drop BLS and beat over Garunix.  In one case I threw an Honest on.  Being the bad that he is the guy forgot to get Barong out of the deck in both games.

Round 3 - vs X-Sabers (2-1)

Game 1 - I do Lightsworn things and poop all over his field.

Game 2 - He does Saber things and poops all over my field and makes a Strike Bounzer.

Game 3 - I almost lose to a random Magic Cylinder but I'm able to get JD out and take the game over.

Top 4 - vs Dark World (2-0)

Game 1 - He opened crap and I opened with 2 Wulfs!  Yay!  I'm still able to get some damage in before he Card Destructions and sets up a big field.  However I drop a Judgment Dragon and win.

Game 2 - Oh man.  This was awesome.   So he gets Grapha out and Dark Smogs the JD that I milled.  That's okay.  Because I drop Chaos Sorcerer, Black Luster Soldier who attacks Grapha....and I drop Honest!  Total damage that turn?  Over NINE THOUSAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND.

He was quite salty at that level of sackery.  Dark Worlds have no right to complain about Lightsworn sacking.  Simple as that.

Final - vs Karakuri (2-1)

Game 1 - I killed him.

Game 2 - He killed me.

Game 3 - This also got close as I opened Lumina + Garoth and had an amazing setup (but never drew JD) and dropped a 3000 Trag that I sat on as he comboed out.  He could have made a Scrap Dragon to win it but it slipped his mind and I ultimately topdeck BLS with time looming and I go to town under the safety of Royal Decree.

Yes I sided cards and did not mill them.  Holy fucking shit its a miracle.

After this we went to Robins were I had some games of Cardfight Vanguard and did some trades.  Picked up Virbank City Gym for Pokemon, a Genex Ally Birdman for Hieratics and recorded a Deck Profile of this.

Props
-Winning a tournament even if it was Locals with Lightsworn in memory of a good friend.
-Outsacking Dark World.  Solemn my Judgment Dragon?  Monster Reincarnation trolls that!  Also the BLS + Honest play against a Grapha with 3000 attack and a Sorc to back it up.  That was 11200 damage there.
-Finishing Hieratics for the new banlist...mostly.  I need a third Thunder Charger.

Slops
-Milling my TEN SPELLS.

Locals Adventure - Beat by the Bubble

Last post of the September 2012 Format!  Hard to believe it's already come to a close.  In regards to my thoughts on the format as a whole it was pretty fun Mermail and Wind-Up nothwithstanding (I'm sorry but I've had a strong hate for that deck since ORCS).  I got a top and was able to play several decks including one that was super Meta before I traded it off.

Most notably this format was where Yu-Gi-Oh! DevPro made a name for itself as an alternative to Dueling Network in regards to online dueling and overall its SO.  MUCH.  BETTER.  Fuck the bad kids who try to summon Cyber Dragon after Tour Guide and fuck the people who think they're amazing players but don't bother to pay attention to what Koa'ki Meiru Drago does and tries to Battle Fader it but then have the audacity to claim they know "how to fucking read" when I start telling them what Crimson Blader and Queen Dragun Djinn does on summon.

Oh and fuck Prophecy.  Much like Wind-Ups the deck used to be cool but then Konami broke the fuck out of it.  Now it's become a self touch deck like Dark World.  In fact Prophecy is the NEW Dark World.  Yes I fucking went there because its so god damned true.  The difference is that Dark World sometimes require you to play out of bad hands of Discard Outlets with no Monsters.  Prophecy has fucking Spellbook of Judgment.  You know it's sad when a deck makes Dark World look skillful.

That said I decided to play a deck that could use 2 Solemn Warning since the card is wrongfully going to 1 this banlist when really it should have been done in Sept 2011.  Its a deck I was able to finish upon getting a 2nd Fire Fist Bear and that would be Tenki Gladiator Beasts.

Round 1 - vs Photons (2-0)

Game 1; I don't want to be mean here but this guy's deck has gotten worse over the last year.  Too many gimmicks that kill the overall flow of the deck.  As such I was able to out advantage him through Tiger King and giant Laquaris.

Game 2; I booked his Photon Thrasher and started doing things.  He didn't have a chance.

Round 2 - vs Xyz Deck (2-0)

Game 1; I summon a Darius and he sets a backrow before swinging at it with Alexandrite Dragon but I Lance it.  Then I got to pop his backrow with Bestiari and it snowballed from there.

Game 2; I dropped Gyzarus a couple times and just went HAM.

Round 3 - vs Water (1-2)

Game 1; Not much I could do here.  He got Abyss Sphere off and I couldn't stop his plays.

Game 2;  He opened two Genex Controller and I hit his Megalo with a War Chariot.

Game 3; Okay so I open with Dimensional Fissure and completely stonewall his deck.  He has an all mosnter hand for like 5 turns and time gets called.  I'm all set to win and have a second DiFi but I don't play it because I was fearing the Heavy Storm.  Well it didn't matter because he ripped MST off the topdeck and proceeded to OTK me.  SALT.  CONSIDERABLE SALT.

And that was it.  Due to the turnout and time only top 4 could make playoffs.  Of course I'm going to be part of this seeing how I only lost 1 match and it was to the undefeated person, right?  NOPE!  A fucking scrub kid got in over me.  The rest of us at Team Tries Too Hard were like wtf how did some baddy get into top here.  Turns out he was playing Dark World which goes to show that anyone can build that piece of garbage and do good with it.  Oh well then!  And if you think that's bullshit then wait until you hear about the end.

You see the prize support which happened to be Astral Packs and older TP packs were done in a dumb manner.  First and Second got Astral Packs and there were 5 to go so obviously the remaining five good people could pick what they want, right?  NOPE!  We're going to preset which slots between 3-16 get an Astral Pack and completely make the point of trying to do good and place well COMPLETELY MOOT.  What the hell is the point of trying to win all my games and top when I can throw every match, get last place and get the same prize as whoever worked their ass off to get 1st place?  LOGIC!

So screw that noise.  I bought a few packs of Blazer and pulled my third Breakthrough Skill and a FF Horse Prince.  Traded the Breakthrough for Super Terraforming and therefore my Dragunity gets more blinged.

After this we went to Robins were I had a few more games of Yu-Gi-Oh followed by Cardfight!! Vanguard where I won nearly all of my games against the likes of Dark Irregulars, Nova Grappler, Amber Dawn Kagero and Oracle Think Tank. I also got to experience the misfortune of decks with 12 Critical Triggers to my 8 and 4 Stands/4 Heals.  My god I don't like how I have to wait for half a year for Narukami to get more Crits and support in general.  Narukami is a good deck but it's got a horrific lack of support compared to Gold Paladin.  Vermillion only goes so far on his own.  The Eradicators can't come soon enough.

Then to wrap it all up there were multi way Yu-Gi-Oh! Duels and oh dear god the amount of insane bullshit that happened.  Lulz of massive levels were had.  Same for fails.  Some were epically awesome and others were outright facepalm worthy.

Props
-People still don't know how the fuck GBs work.
-Slapping people around with Narukami
-Mega Man Battle Network talk
-Seeing two people Compulse each other back and forth.
-Super Rare Terraforming!

Slops
-Getting sacked by Water
-Bubbling out and seeing a terrible version of Dark World make top 4.
-Realizing that the best plays of my deck were off of the Fire Fist cards.  Pure Fire Fists are so much better than Tenki Glads and that's dissappointing.

Suck my Basilicock!

Yup another locals report from the Blue Corner and as usual something silly happened at the store. We'll get to that later.

Anyway I decided I'd play the new Fire King Structure Deck with Hazy Flames mixed in.  I just needed to get the Fire Deck which I had none of beforehand.  Thankfully Tramps had 3 left in stock so I bought those out and started building, shuffling and etc before getting some trading done.  Ended up getting a Gold Rare Gold Sarcophagus for Disaster Dragon, Recycling Batteries for Thunder, 2 Super Rare Terraforming for Dragunity, Brotherhood Tiger King, Laval Stennon, 2 Super Rare Wulfs, 2 Gold JDs, 1 Super Hand of the Six, 1 Night Beam, 1 Ascetism, 1 Convulsion of Nature, 1 Gateway, Catapult Turtle and a Fire Formation Tenki.  Awesome.  Now for the tournament.

Round 1 - vs Lightsworn (2-0)

Game 1 - Lose the dieroll but I open with Onslaught so I'm able to start plussing with Garunix.  He eventually drops BLS and JD on me but I'm able to work around it with multiple Rekindlings and Gaia Dragon's massive piercing damage against 2 Rykos.

Game 2 - I get the ball rolling and he drops JD but makes the misplay of using his field nuke effect with a Garunix on board.  Yeah that did not end well.

Round 2 - vs Inzektors (2-0)

Game 1 - Ah yes the Threatening Roar build with Call of the Haunted.  Flamvell Firedog forced those out early while I start building up resources to summon Basilitrice and remove things.  He clears them but I Rekindling him for game.

Game 2 - Garuinix was a gigantic douchebag this game as I brought it out with Onslaught while he had a Zenmaines on the board so that was a guaranteed means of triggering his effect twice and I flipped Dust Tornado after he played Di Fissure, summoned Centipede and tried to Hornet Garuinx.  He makes another Zenmaines so I'm constantly knocking materials off and finally force him to get rid of his Messinger of Peace and create a you can't win board he has no choice but to Dark Hole...then I Rekindling for game.

Round 3 - vs Dark World (2-1)

Game 1 - I MST his Gates and this slows him down horribly as he only had Beiige and Goldd in his hand which I Bottomlessed.  I run over Beiige with Firedog and spam Fire Circle to OTK him.

Game 2 - He opened with 2 Dragged Downs to my one Gemini Imps and starts doing Dark World bullshit.

Game 3 - I get him back though by Imping his one Dragged Down and playing Rekindling and using Fire Ring for game.

Top 4 - vs Mermail Atlantean (0-2)

Game 1 - I open terribly as usual against anyone good.  Barong as my only monster and no Onslaught in sight is a terrible thing to have against anything super fast paced like Merlanteans.  Would have killed to get a Firedog but nope.  I admit my build has consistency issues but come on!  I would have liked to have put up a fight.

Game 2 - I open pretty meh but eventually get Garunix out which does stonewall him for a bit, but he's able to drop Moulinglacia and that answers that.  I topdeck into a Fire Ring and I'm done.

My opponent goes on to beat Dark World in the finals which was called Faggot World while Water was called Derpy Water.  My deck got named Derpy Fire to which I told the judge he was wrong.  It's called Suck my Basilicock and he promptly DIED laughing.  After this we went to Robins to shoot a Banlist video while also doing some games of Yugioh and Vanguard that I recorded.

Props
-Deck has tremendous potential for something relatively inexpensive.  Commons and rares from Cosmo Blazer and the Structure deck go a long way.  It can be made better using some powerful cards like Cardcar D and Threatening Roar.
-Garunix is too stronk.
-Beating Dark World despite seeing a whole 3 of my 7 sided in cards.
-Watching one of those bad players snap because his shitty Hero deck got whooped by something consistent.

Slops
-My shitty games against Mermail Atlanteans.  I was roflstomping everything before hand then I drew CRAP.  Multiple Controllers weren't nearly as awful as what I had to work with.
-Pot of Duality and Bottomless are kinda hit or miss.  I may drop them for CCD and TRoar.

Other
-My god the number of Yugi-Hipsters is increasing.  I can't go to a locals without someone bitching about cookie cutter this or acting holier than thou because they're using a card that nobody does in an established deck...because that amazing card is awful.
-WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP TRYING TO USE DECOY DRAGON IN DRAGON DECKS.  THE CARD IS COMPLETE.  UTTER.  HORSESHIT.  STOP BEING A FUCKING BAD AND RUNNING THIS COCKSUCKER.

Saturday, 2 February 2013

That was FUN?

A post on a Saturday?  That must mean I went to the good locals!  Indeed I did!  In fact today was overall a good day barring some unfortunate things which I'll get into later.  Prior to this I had decided to get rid of my Mermail/Atlantean deck and I ended up getting rid of my Prophecy Regional Mat that I won with Dragunity.

In the end I got 100 dollars cash for my Megalos (one was factory damage and the other I valued at 60 since they were played), Ulti Photon Thrasher, Ultra Solar Recharge, Lightning Chidori, Ghost Rare Heart-EartH Dragon, DP Yugi Mirror Force, DT Catastor, Super Rare 1st Necro Gardna, 3x Ultimate Rare Herald of Orange Light, Breakthrough Skill, German Evolzar Dolkka, Super Rare Mobius the Frost Monarch, Super Rare Dimensional Prison and Ultra Rare Book of Moon for the rest of the Mermails, Atlanteans and 3x TP Deep Sea Diva.  Sure I took a slight loss as opposed to trying to overcharge them on Ebay (and people would have gone for them) but I usually trade with my friends at lower prices than I would with strangers.  Not to mention I still got most, if not all of the money I spent on the deck back in the form of my trades (Ulti Thrashers are like 40 bucks in itself, plus the 25 dollar Book of Moon, etc) and now I don't have to worry about the banlist killing the deck I'm playing.

I admit I LOVED playing Merlanteans.  Water decks in general were never good until they came around and I've wanted to play good water deck for years.  Its why I still try to make Gishki work.  However I also know full well that once the Suppressor Dragons hit the TCG I'm never going to play Merlanteans again so I figure why not get rid of the money cards of the deck while they're still valued high and money that I can use towards getting the Suppressors and saving up some cash for Nationals.  The way I figure it the trip is going to cost about 500-1000 dollars and with this I'm almost halfway there.  That said onto the tournament itself.  At the suggestion of Megamonkey I decided to play something a little more fun in the form of Lightsworns seeing how I haven't used them in a tournament all format and my subscribers have been asking for a deck profile on them for a while now.  I'll say the latter part isn't happening until I can work out the kinks in the deck as I have had notoriously bad luck with them in the past.  Everytime I mill a BLS or a Monster Reborn I die a little inside and such.

Round 1 - vs Heraldic Beasts (Megamonkey) 2-0

Game 1 - He opened kind of poorly and I milled alright.  I eventually knocked him down to >4000 LP and made Tempest Magician to burn off the rest of his LP.

Game 2 - This one was long as he was able to break through my monsters (I don't think I dropped a JD this game) and I was forced to sack a bit before time was eventually called.  Then I sacked a little more and I won.

Round 2 - vs Gravekeepers (2-1)

Game 1 - He busts out a Malefic Cyber End Dragon that I clear, then he busts out a Stardust that I Ryko and eventually I drop JD and nuke everything before going for a kill.

Game 2 - I dropped BLS early and poked with Wulf for the win...except I realized that Wulf I summoned off of Lumina was what I removed for BLS.  I told him he got the win since I created an inrreperable game state.

Game 3 - He Royal Tributes my BLS and Gorz but I'm eventually able to get out of it thanks to Tragoedia and eventually dropping a JD with Zenmaines.

Round 3 - vs Dark World (1-2)

Game 1 - His dealings lets me put the last 2 Lightsworns I needed for the 2 JDs I now had in hand.  Thanks!

Game 2 - Then he gets Skill Drain AND Dark Smog up turn two and I can't do JACK SHIT.

Game 3 - Look at me I can can get Card Destruction and all of my fucking amazing combo pieces AND my side decked cards and slap my balls in your face oh ho ho!  Dark Worlds are so great!  Fuck.  Lightsworn have to draw godly AND Gemini Imps in order to stand a chance against this pile of shit deck.  Its so fucking irritating when you can't clear a Dark Smog and they just keep plussing of it.  Oh you want to attack with Trag?  I'll Skill Drain that and remove it with Dark Smog.

I swear to fucking god I'm going to make a deck specifically to troll this garbage.  At least 3 people play it so I know there'd be one or two instances I could go Naturia Beast + Backrow turn one.  Oh you want to play your discard outlets?  Too fucking bad.

Also the whole "side decks are awful for the game" is complete rubbish.  The reason side decks are so powerful now is because decks are so one dimensional.  They weren't like this before but its just how the game has become.  Every archetype is linear to the point that they DO lose to single cards that shut down their strategy.

Top 4 - vs Photons (2-0)

Game 1 - I mill REALLY nicely with Wulfs and Necro Gardnas doing their thing.  I manage to drop a JD to clear the board and take it from there.

Game 2 - Kinda similar.  I mill BLS early so I set myself up to Monster Reincarnation it back and put JD out.

Finals - vs Dark World (1-2)

Same as Round 3.  I annihilate him game one and then he dickbutts me hard the remaining two.  At least I pulled a Photon Thrasher from my Astral Pack to go with the first one.

Props
-Lightsworns are still a good, albeit not wholly reliable deck.  For every Wulf or Necro Gardna I milled, I'd also mill 2-3 limited cards.
-Lumina + Garoth is so good.
-Maxx "C" is a troll.
-Picking up a Super Rare Tefnuit, Exploder Dragon to complete my Hieratic and Super Disaster Dragon decks.
-Dem trades.
-DD Crowing a Grapha.  That felt so good.

Slops
-Getting outsacked by Dark World.  Oh I dropped 2 Judgment Dragon on you.  BOO FUCKING HOO!  You got Card Destruction and Dragged Down Into the Grave every game.
-Bad mills.  My Soul Drains, Spirit Reapers and Royal Decrees rarely saw actual play.

Lesson of the day.  As long as Dark World exist, you can never have fun at your locals.

He's the Angriest Dragon Tamer Nerrrrrrrrd.

Pesagus Challenges are retarded. Fun as hell but beyond retarded. This one was no different and overall it was pretty fun. What was so special about this one? Well the conditions were;

-All decks must be 100 cards. Extra decks are 30 or less
-You draw 2 cards during your turn.
-Traditional Format.

Needless to say I was defintely going to be doing some Yu-Gi-Ohz since this meant I could play cards like Painful Choice, Snatch Steal and Ring of Destruction while opting to make Chaos Dragon Lightsworns.

Round 1 - vs Crystal Beast Dark World (2-0)
Game 1 - He didn't know we were having the Pegasus Challenge and was forced to put 2 of his decks together and the result was as you'd expect. He did put up a fight thanks to hitting Dealings + Snoww and getting Grapha out...but then I took it with Goyo Guardian and summoned Red-Eyes B. Dragon and proceeded to win with THAT card. Glorious.
Game 2 - I opened with Future Fusion. Enough said.

...

Really? You want to know more? Okay. So he does Grapha my FuFu but it doesn't matter as I mill exceptionally well (a god damned rarity for me) and go Wulf + Wulf + Glow-Up Bulb into Trishula and get rid of his Grapha before I summon Chaos Emperor Dragon and nuke EVERYTHING forever.

Round 2 - vs Stall Burn (9999-0)
Game 1 - Already knew before hand I was going to be going up against this kind of deck since he asked about Appropriate (why do people play this fucking shitstain of a card?). He opens with a set Marshmallon while I have Lyla break a stall card. This goes on for a while before I get a Witch of the Black Forest search off and proceed to make Iron Chain Dragon, summon Lightpulsar Dragon and overlay them both into Exa-Beetle and equip Witch because you know, she gets her effect when sent by Exa-Beetle.
He fucking RAGED when it became perfectly clear that I was going to bullshit around his Ground Collapses and Marshmallons (because Gaia Charger was coming) and proceeded to rant about how fucking gay the game is and all these stupid retarded cards, etc, etc.

Okay. I'm going to say this right now. Fucking PLEASE. You are playing a FUCKING STALL BURN DECK. Your deck is absolute definition of COMPLETE HORSESHIT that only ASSHOLES play! You have NO RIGHT to bitch and moan about a deck being dumb when you are doing NOTHING but WASTING MY GOD DAMNED TIME with GIMMICKY BULLSHIT that loses to anything REMOTELY DECENT that outright pisses off any SENSIBLE PLAYER. Fucking stop being a GOD DAMNED FUCKING FAGGOT and play a REAL DECK that wins through oh I don't know, NOT BEING A DOUCHEBAG!? I'd rather play fucking DARK WORLD than this piece of SHIT DECK that makes my VOMIT look appealing by comparison!  Seriously to all the people out there who play Stall Burn, Troll Stall, Chain Burn, Empty Jar, Final Countdown and Exodia; FUCK YOU AND GO TO HELL AND DIE.

*Pant, pant*
Sorry about that. I got a bit carried away there. My friends have told me repeatedly that I'm rather humble, quiet and overall a nice person that could benefit from sometimes letting a little of my inner ass come up. I'd like to say that was a bit of a fair start. After all if there's one thing out there that annoys me it's the holier than thou mindset of bad people who get upset because people play good cards because they're good. Also the people that bitch about decks having to side to win and that doing so is a pussy ass move are RETARDED. Of COURSE you side deck! That's how your deck WINS against bad matchups! You know who side decks? People that top any event thats actually worth JACK SHIT. Oh sure you can win your locals with Dark World but if you seriously expect someone to not side in Shadow Mirror/Macro/Imps on you at a Regionals you're fucking delusional. Moreso than I in thinking REDMD should come back to 2 next format which he totally should. Fuck the consequences.

Round 3 - vs Six Samurai (1-2)
Game 1 - He opened Gateway and did what most Samurais always do. Summon recklessly despite Maxx "C" or the like. Sadly I couldn't make him pay for it as he got out Trishula and and knocked out my only chances of punishing him.
Game 2 - Opened Future Fusion and OTKed him on my second turn thanks to a field of Queen Dragun Djinn, REDMD and Chaos Emperor Dragon with Ring of Destruction face down.
Game 3 - He opened dumb and I couldn't do much to stop it. That Samurai Field Spell made everything I could put out far too small and when I tried to Honest over his Shi En he pitched Shien's Squire and yeah...that stopped my everything. I did make a valiant last ditch effort by Metamorphising Battle Fader into Thousand Eyes to take his Shi En then attacked...and then he MST'd my equip and I lost.

Top 4 - vs Megamonkey666 using Superderp 64 (1-2)
Game 1 - Turn 1 Trap Dustshoot followed by I think Painful Choice and yeah...I really could not do much. I scooped when I saw him going for Quasar.
Game 2 - Despite getting hit by another Turn 1 Trap Dustshoot I'm able to pull out an OTK.
Game 3 - ...seriously? Turn 1 Trap Dustshoot!? And you got the Veiler for my Tour Guide and the Imperial Order to my one good banned card!? Can I get a good draw OH NO I CAN'T! GOD FORBID THAT!
And then I kinda got more upset what with some swearing to which I was told by the judge that I had to stop or else I could be told to leave.

...

So I promptly decided to go on an Angry Video Game Level tyrade EXCEPT I actually tried to censor myself because FUCK IT WHY THE HELL NOT. You know how hard it is to try and rant like him without the swearing? Anyway I eventually said Rotten Donkey Anus and we all just started rofling. I honestly thought the one judge was gonna keel over and die (not to mention Megamonkey and the guy next to me). I tried to keep going but it was really hard to keep angry while loling at the same time. Either way I raged and trolled all in one ridiculous moment that will go down in hilarious infamy. This is what happens when you unleash your inner AVGN but have to keep it P.C. It ain't fucking easy people. I mean it ain't fooking easy people.

Also before anyone gets on my case about this rant and the Stall Burn Guy's raging I've got a few points to make. Number one his was all legitimate rage while some of mine was played up for the lulz. Secondly he was running a deck that is a pile of shit taking another shit that nobody likes to play and only trolls run and he had the gall to complain about "all these dumb cards that people run" which is reasoning I find to be absolute bullshit as previously mentioned. Also I said rotten donkey anus.

Anyway that ended my tournament. The finals was between Megamonkey and DarkZane who was playing the most anti metaish deck of us all (57-60 spells and traps compared to say my barely any). I recorded that and picked up an Ultimate Rare Thunder King Rai-Oh. Score! We all went to Robins afterwards and I had some more games with Megamonkey and his deck. Didn't see Dustshoot near as often but still lost more games than I won. I hate saying this but Synchrocentric > Chaos Dragons when it comes to having more power cards at their disposal. I did however do the BEST PLAY EVER by taking his Trag with my Trag, attacking with both at 3000 then overlaying into Gustav Max and burning for game.

But then again it is Chaos Dragons so eh. Only so much you can do with THAT deck. Needs more REDMD, Sorc and such (not to mention my milling has been notoriously bad). Darkzane also gave me a Dark Irregulars deck for CFV that I have no idea what to do with.

Props
-Summoning the Red-Eyes B. Dragon and winning a game via direct attack from him. DARK MEGA FLARE!
-Sticking it to Dark World by stealing a Grapha with Goyo and Trishulaing another one.
-Opening with Future Fusion. Oh god how I've missed this.
-Opening with Painful Choice. Oh you thought Future Fusion was bad? 2 Wulfs and 3 Eclipse Wyvern. Take your pick. Everyone gave me Wulf because it would be a dead card. Then it Recharged it. That card is a hundred times worse than Future Fusion.
-Chaos Emperor Dragon. I summoned it more times than anybody else. Eclipse Wyvern is too stronk.
-Coming up with a RIDICULOUS Exa-Beetle play with Witch of the Black Forest on the spot and making an awful player flip the table.
-Getting out Thousand-Eyes Restrict with Metamorphisis. Nobody did this in the entire Tournament.
-Discarding a Tragooedia with my Tragoedia's effect to take a Tragoedia then overlaying them into Gustav Max. YORU!!!!
-Coining the term Rotten Monkey Anus.

Slops
-Getting sacked. Its Traditional so it happens. Doesn't make it less annoying. Especially when the power ratio between my hand and theirs is horribly unbalanced. Dark Hole and Heavy Storm? Their Change of Heart and Painful Choice then Trishula play laughs at that.
-Losing my cool, no matter how hilarious it ended up being.
-Some of my plays and card choices were not the best. I see this now as many times I had a Mystic Tomato in hand and wanted it to get to Spirit Reaper...only to have it stolen/removed/bounced. A third Reaper would have been better.
-Milling limited/banned cards. Go to hell Card Trooper.

Locals Adventure - Fun with Glads!

First post of the year and its going to be an interesting one as I ended up getting an entire weekend off (and therefore be unable to go to the Cosmo Blazer Sneeks...not much of a loss there) with a Pegasus League Challenge being on Sunday.  Won't go into much for details but needless to say I spent ALOT of time making a deck for this and as the result I found myself not having anything to play for Saturday so I quickly threw together a Rabbit Gladiator Beast deck that turned out surprisingly similar to the one that got fixed up on TCG Player's main page.  I also prepared a side deck to deal with the most played decks in my meta; Dark World, Inzektors, Chaos/Lightsworn Variants, Mermail and Wind-Ups.  Mostly for Dark World and Inzektors though.  Absolutely hate playing against those decks.

Round 1 - GBs vs Atlantean Structure Deck (2-0)

The Match; New kid at our Locals who was basically just picking up the game.  Yeah...this wasn't even close.  I felt sorry for him given that I pulled off Rabbit/Tiger combos and pretty much annihilated him.  I did make it a point to tell him he was correct in holding off flipping a Mirror Force against one monster (except against Glads because Bestiari is a thing) and trying to score the +1 or more.

Round 2 - vs Dark World (2-1)

Game 1 - He opened poorly and couldn't get his ball rolling while Retiari tore his grave up.

Game 2 - Solemned my Shadow-Mirror and went completely off as Dark Worlds tend to do, however...

Game 3 - The fact that I sided in 12 cards makes itself known and between Shadow Mirror and Dimensional Fissure I'm having none of his shenanigans.

Round 3 - vs Lancer Obelisk (2-0)

Game 1 - Retiari'd his Treeborn Frog and that was basically it.  Glad's have always had a phenominal matchup against Frogs and he knew this so he promptly scooped it up.

Round 4 - 2-0

Did this happen?  I forget.  I think we had a small turnout anyway.

Top 4 vs Dark World (2-0)

Game 1 - Same as before.  I blow up and remove shit while he can't get things going.

Game 2 - Sided in 14 cards this time and they kinda stonewalled him.

Final - vs Chaos Dragon (1-2)

Game 1 - Heavy Storm, Dark Hole, Chaos Monsters.  What are the chances!?

Game 2 - Turn 1 Dimensional Fissure completely stonewalled him.

Game 3 - And then he promptly had every single out to what I could do.  Zenmaioh to nuke my backrow because god forbid I get a Bottomless, Chariot or Warning to stop those things, then the Veiler on my Rabbit and then I topdeck a Chariot with nothing else on the field.  I actually got up and walked away from the table because I was that ticked off and needed to cool my head.

Props
-Summon GB + Set 4 is still VERY daunting for people to get around, even if two of those cards are bluff spells like RoTA and Proving Ground.
-Roflstomping Dark World two rounds in a row.  I honestly thought I'd lose to the deck like Heroes do but Retiari and Gyzarus were like lolnope.
-Getting a 2nd Super Rare Tefnuit
-Test Tiger + Rescue Rabbit = YU-GI-OHZ!

Slops
-Getting sacked hardcore.  Fuck turn 1 Heavy Storm.  It should NOT happen as often as it fucking does.

Other
-Bestiari to 2 next banlist please.  Unless they actually plan on making GB support that doesn't suck (lol Lanista) it won't break the deck.  Hell I'm not sure if Glads would be fast enough to keep up with Mermail or Wind-Up even if they got another Bestiari.

Locals Adventure - Double the Fun!

Its been a bit since I posted on here eh?  Don't worry there wasn't much missed.  I've only played one Locals since the Macro Rabbit win and I ended up scrubbing out with Merlanteans in top cut because Inzektors are a bullshit deck and I didn't have a proper side for handling them.  Well it turns out I had a chance to avenge this as I would face Inzektors again this weekened at not one but TWO locals!

Saturday; I once again decided to use Mermail Atlanteans with the intention of trying out two copies of Call of the Haunted in the main board to see just how useful it was.  I also decided to try out Billy Brake's idea of a conversion side deck that would render several of my opponents own side strategies dead.

Round 1 - Grandsoil Scraps (2-0*)

Game 1; I was up against the judge which is an automatic match win here, but we decided to play it out.  I open pretty wierd with a hand of Atlanteans and not a single Mermail or Abyss-Sphere for many, many turns.  I do derp a bit and I get pretty close to beating him but he's just able to fend off my attacks and drop Grandsoils and Scrap Dragons that ultimately smash through my monsters.

Game 2; I open very nicely, but walk right into a Torrential Tribute that wipes my 2 Megalo board and while I put up a hell of a fight, I just can't get out of this.

So while I officially win, I technically lose.

Round 2 - Wind-Ups (1-1)

I apologize for not remembering all of this match.  I know I got a Moulinglace drop one game and he got off Tour Guide + Shark combos the other.  Then time was called upon game 2 finishing.

Round 3 - Inzektors (2-1)

Game 1 - I OTK him.

Game 2 - He's able to get around my cards and pulls of the Gigamantis/Sword/Dragonfly combos that I just so love.

Game 3 - I almost OTK him but misplay leaving him with 2200 LP and he proceeds to go off doing combos again making a field of Leviathan, Giga Brilliant and Zenmaines that nearly kills me.  However since I don't die I'm able to make a Mist Wurm, bounce his monsters back and attack for game.

Round 4 - Wind-Ups (2-0)

Again this match is a blur.  I think I got the OTK one game while the second my Skill Drain + a bajillion backrows was able to grind out a win.

Round 5 or Finals - Megamonkey666 w Agents (2-1)

K waiting a day or two before I write this isn't working as I don't even remember all the rounds!  Anyway I dickbutt him one game, he dickbutts me the other and I think its more back and forth the third one, but I sack into some power cards and win.

I pulled an Inzektor Centipede from my Astral Pack and got a Tefnuit for it.  Bitchin.

Sunday; Same deck except I dropped the CotH as they were win mores (only once did the card help and that was using it in response to Heavy Storm with a Linde in grave) and moved my Mirror Forces to the main.  I also went the extra mile with the side throwing in Thunder Kings and Shadow Mirrors to deal with Scumbag Steve decks.

Round 1- Prophecy (2-0)

Game 1 - He opens pretty badly and as the result can't do a whole lot to stop me from overwhelming him in a few turns.

Game 2 - Manages to drop the Priestess but I'm able to compulse it back and do my thing afterwards.

Round 2 - Ninja Chaos Dragons (2-1)

Game 1 - I'm able to play around with his Super Transformations and eventually game him.

Game 2 - Unfortunately I'm unable to get around the Super Transformations and I'm not quite seeing my means of handling them.  Then he drops Sack Luster Soldier and I lose.

Game 3 - And then with time looming I drop 10000+ worth of attack on the board.

Round 3 - Dino Rabbit (2-0)

Game 1 - He opens with Kabazuls set 4 of which one is a Book of Moon he uses on my Heavy Infantry.  So I set Mirror Force + a facedown that he attacks into, flipping up Solemn Judgment to stop.  Then on my turn I flip up my Heavy Storm and totally roflstomp him.

Game 2 - He opens with Prohibition calling Deep Sea Diva and make a Laggia while I have no monsters, Skill Drain, Prison and something else.  I Prison + Drain his Laggia and rip a Thunder King off the top deck and ride that mofo to victory despite his Fiendish Chains, Pot of Avarice, Heavy Storm and Neko Mane Kings while I'm building up a hand of Soul Takers, Diva and such.

Round 4 - Magnus w Agents (2-1)

Game 1 - I derp pretty good here and get off the usual bells and whistles the deck does.  We laugh a bit how intimidating a Genex Undine is against an Earth and so on.

Game 2 - He gets the turn 1 Gachi and some other things that make it really difficult for me to get through his field.  Then he drops Sack Luster Soldier and I lose.

Game 3 - I Skill Drain after he attacks with Venus and drop a Beast King Barbaros afterwards while having an Evac Device to save it from Creature Swap.  Genex Controller attacks over a Shine Ball like a BAWS while I get a Thunder King at some point.  Mirror Force also gets in there.

Top 4 - Megamonkey666 with Merlanteans (2-1)

I'm sorry man, I know you wanted me to go on and on about this one but I'm having a really hard time remembering the full match outside of the fact that there was SO MUCH DERP IT WAS AMAZING.  Oh my goodness.  There were Megalos, Moulinglaces, Divas, Marksmen and so much more.  I made Gungnir at one point while he got Trag and Gorz off another.  I got an Abyss Dweller, Zenmaines and Gachi in the last round as we went into time while Mirror Forces, Wind Blasts and so much more were played.  This was something I really wish I could have gotten recorded if anything as it was one of the most fun games I've had in a long time.  People bitch about Mirror Matches being awful but I really find them to be fun and a test of the player's skill with the deck.  The Hero Mirror matches I've had with Megamonkey were also fun as hell.

Finals - Inzektors (2-0)

Game 1 - So we only had half an hour to do this since the store was closing soon.  He doesn't open particularly well and I just beat him to death with Marksman plays and a Zenmaines.

Game 2 - Sided in 15 cards and I opened with 4 of them :D.  I'm able to set up Skill Drain + Shadow Mirror + Thunder King Rai-Oh and continually pick at his field with one for ones and getting a Monster Reborn off that takes his Dragonfly which I use with Marksman to make Leviathan Dragon.  Then I Soul Taker his monster and win.  Pulled crap from my Turbo Packs.

Pros
-Undine too stronk
-Loving the conversion side deck.  People just did not expect me to slam down the Beast King Barbaros with a Skill Drain up while packing Compulse, Mirror Force, Fiendish Chain, D Prison AND Torrential Tribute.
-Hearing that an Exodia player bitch about how retarded decks like Mermail Atlanteans are.  He got promptly told off by Megamonkey for five minutes about how fucking dumb self touch decks like his are.  A pity I wasn't able to see it.

Cons
-Opening Genex Controller.  I can see why people would run 3.

Locals Adventure - I'm Not Dead Yet!

Okay so it's been a while since I last posted something on here.  My bad.  I kinda forgot my password and therefore never logged in to post up anything this format.  Thankfully anyone who follows this blog is subscribed to my Youtube Channel so you guys haven't missed out on too much.  I will recap however;

-In September I won 1st Place at the first ever Regionals to be held in Saskatchewan and I did so with Dragunity.
-I got another first place at Locals with Dragunity
-I finished in the top 4 or won almost every Locals since.  Decks used were Chaos Dragon, Dark World and Frog Monarch.

Thus we're all now recapped.  Onto the actual post in which I got first place with Macro Rabbit.  Anyone watching my channel knows I'm very fond of this deck at the moment and honestly if I had been able to go to YCS Seattle it would have been my deck of choice at the event.  My other choice was Junk Doppel but I felt I didn't have enough experience with the deck to get the most out of the hands drawn, so I let megamonkey666 run it since he needed a deck for the tournament.  He got Top 8 with it and dropped Quasar a few times and from what I saw it performed decent.  Onto the actual report;

Round 1 - vs Noble Rabbit (0-2)

Game 1 - He wins the dieroll and opens strong compared to my slow start.  He quickly makes Heroic Champion Gandiva which kills this deck unless I can clear it (which I don't because god forbid I draw Prison/Force/Evac Device) so I try to wall up on Reaper who gets Mind Control'd and I lose shortly after.

Game 2 - You know what I hate?  Heavy Storm on the first turn.  I summon a Sabersaurus with Safe Zone and Solemn Warning but NOPE, WE CAN'T HAVE THAT.  He then proceeds to Bottomless/Torrential/Warning/Solemn all of my plays while I use my backrow to ward him off.  Ultimately I don't get to do much thanks to that fucking Heavy Storm.  That literally won him the match.  Oh and he has the Forbidden Lance to counter my Forbidden Lance.  Must be nice to draw EVERYTHING on a frequent basis.  Same thing happened to megamonkey when he dueled the guy.  Got shut down by his outs and Sack Luster Soldier.

Fucking limited cards that should be banned (well not Heavy).

Round 2 - Bye

I was given the bye for some odd reason, so I looked at some decks and watched megamonkey face the Noble Rabbit deck.  Then the two had a one of duel between Fabled and Quickdraw to see who could Quasar first.  That one I recorded.

Round 3 - vs ReRe (2-0)

The Match - Why do I open amazing backrow against scrubs?  Terrible player that deserves to be mocked while I play Dark World; Card Destruction + 4 Dark World Monsters.  Legitimately good opponent while I'm using Dark World; DEALINGS DEALINGS DRAGGED DOWN DRAGGED DOWN CARD DESTRUCTION.

Yeah he saw my Regional Deckbox and it kinda intimidated him.  Then I proceeded to Rabbit/Tour Guide him.  Also talked hockey and baseball a bit with the guys next to us.  I'm having GREAT difficulty accepting that the Toronto Blue Jays are going to be a legit team this year.

Top 8 - vs Magnus, Monster Mash Agents (2-1)

Game 1; Going up against the best player in the city?  Well then I'd better open poorly as usual!

Actually I don't.  I lose the dieroll (as usual) but he leaves a Shine Ball on the field which the Jurrac Guaiba in my hand is like OM NOM NOM and I make Laggia + backrow with one of them being a Macro Cosmos that I sit to his Tragoedia + 4 cards in hand.  I eventually make Papiloperative to clear it and win.

Game 2; Similar start with Laggia, Macro and teched Safe Zone that I sit on for a while but ultimate lose out when he forces a negate and Heavy Storms my ass over a couple of turns.  Then Sack Luster Soldier appeared and it was over.  These first two games were 30 minutes, btw.

Game 3; Time was called and I managed to get 1700 damage in to his 1400.

Top 4 - vs Noble Rabbit (2-0)

Game 1; Once again he opens absurdly well with Mind Control, Bottomless and clutch Typhoons but this time he makes a brutal misplay in leaving an MX Saber Invoker on the field that I run over with Guaiba and proceed to make a Laggia off of while setting backrow.  He asks if Laggia can negate Honest which sets off a warning bell in my head about what he may do.  Sure enough he summons a Noble Knight which I immediately flip up Macro Cosmos to and proceed to just shut him down.  Turns out he drew into Solemns and other power cards despite my extremely thorough cuts to his deck before the game started.  MUST BE NICE.

Game 2; He opens with a Noble Knight Gawayn that I suicide Sabersaurus into and comes at me with some other monster I don't recall.  I do end up Reborning Sabersaurus and summoing a Dino to make Laggia that I slap a Safe Zone on later and ride to victory alongside Kabazauls and Acid Golem.  Surprisingly he didn't open godly.

Finals - Lancer Monarchs (2-0)

My opponent already said if I won my last round he'd scoop it up since his deck kinda loses to mine. :/

Props
-Spirit Reaper knocking Archlord Kristyas and Gorz out of the hand like a champ.
-Jurrac Guaiba picking up the slack for everyone.
-Safe Zone to stronk.
-Picked up a Secret BLS for my Gold + 5 bucks.  Got an Ultra rare Dark Grepher for 5 bucks.
-My initial Junk Doppel deck tested well.  Quasar was made!

Slops
-Starlight Road is awful.  Why the hell did I move Solemn to the Side deck for this?
-Barely saw Tour Guide and Rabbit.  Most if not all of my Laggia/Dolkka summons came off of Guaiba and my vanillas.

Locals Adventure - Red-Eyes Rampage!

Well its that time again. Another weekend has come and gone along with another Locals report featuring yours truely doing the narrating. I have to say this one was pretty fun, mostly due to my bringing not one but TWO fun decks to test. One of them was Gem-Knights which are explosive as hell now that Obsidian has finally been released. The other which was what I used to get first place again was Red-Eyes Hieratics. You know, the one I did a video on last week? Let's do this;

Round 1 - vs Six Samurai (2-0)
Game 1: He opens with a monster and backrow that I'm able to bait out while setting up my hand for an OTK. I end with a field of Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon, Gaia Dragon the Thunder Charger and a Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon at 3600 attack. He has NO outs to it.
Game 2: Pretty much the same as before. Six Samurai can't get over Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon at all without Hand.

Round 2 - vs Chaos Blackwings (1-2)
Game 1: He sets a Blizzard and backrow before passing turn to my hand of REDMD, MST and 3 Hieratics. I OTK him quickly.
Game 2: I get a Tefnuit off of Cardcar D and have a glorious hand of REDMD, Nebthet, Su Dragon's Mirror and Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon. He however has Bottomless Trap Hole for my Tefnuit and I lose. Between repeated attacks from Blackwing Armor Master and my drawing MST, Lance and Inferno Fire Blast I have nothing.
Game 3: I don't see any Convocation, Tefnuit or Eset and I'm staring down an Armor Master and Shura. I scoop after drawing more dead cards.

Round 3 - vs Six Samurai (2-0)
Game 1: He gets a pretty boss field of Shien, Shadow Shien, Kageki and Kizan but I'm able to make Strike Bounzer, REDMD and Gaia Dragon while having a Dragon's Mirror in hand in case he has Dark Hole. He does. I kill him anyway.
Game 2: He opens with very little and I make another Strike Bounzer + Thunder Charger field.

Round 4 - vs Lightraysworn (2-1)
Game 1: My WTF level goes well past 9000 when I see him drop Necrovalley then play Thunder King. I'm able to slug through it bit by bit, but he has Dark Hole + drops Lightray Diablos
Game 2: My side deck does its work as between A Wingbeat of Giant Dragon and Smashing Ground I'm able to go off with a monstrous OTK.
Game 3: We slow play a bit as I work to make a Tiras that he's forced to crash a Lightray Daedalus into before I eventually take it.

Top 4 - vs Wind-Derp (2-1)
Game 1: He opens with Swords of Revealing Light which stonewalls me just long enough for him to get the pieces needed to Wind-Up loop my hand and drop an Adreus. I scoop it up in disgust.
Game 2: And then I proceed to horribly, brutally overkill him with the largest field I've done all day; 2 Gaia Dragon the Thunder Charger, Photon Strike Bounzer and REDMD. Fucking take THAT.
Game 3: We both open terrible and I'm forced to discard stuff in the end phase. He takes my Meteor Dragon with Monster Reborn, then I reborn my Darkness Metal Dragon and it becomes a series of REDMD reviving Meteor Dragon, I attack twice then Meteor Dragon gets kiled by Cyber Dragon. I play Smashing Ground and finish him off.

Finals - vs Dark World (2-0)
Game 1: He opens with a Zenmaines that I eventually bait into attacking me directly, allowing e to take full advantage of my hand with 2 Inferno Fire Blast, Red-Eyes B. Dragon and the cards needed to pull off a HUGE otk ending with a field of Darkness Metal Dragon, Gaia Charger x2 and Meteor B. Dragon.
Game 2: He doesn't draw a single Discard outlet other than Dark Smog, which I MST. I take it with Nebthet attacks and get first place with Red-Eyes Hieratic Dragons.

PROPS
-The deck when it doesn't give you bad hands performed well. Gloriously well.
-Winning with Red-Eyes B. Dragon and Darkness Dragon. x A million Style Points
-Getting some testing in with Gem-Knights. They performed decent. Opening with vanillas sucks bollochs, though.

SLOPS
-Drawing crap when things went bad. Standard Hieratics have a little more recovery ability. Plus it can run Gorz.

CHANGES TO BE MADE
-Picked up a copy of Versago the Destroyer so now I can try running this deck with Tour Guide From the Underworld in it. Making Dragon's Mirror live faster is always good.
